Sugar Grinding
The sugar grinder grinds the crystal or granulated
sugar to a fine powder. Through this process, the crystal sugar is made
so fine that the crystals can hardly be distinguished. The process is
done mechanically using the pin disc or hammer mills. Today blast mills
are used in increase the throughput capacities.
The blast rotors obtain a larger air volume than the other forms that
allows the mill to operate with larger aspiration. The rotor has
replaceable beater blades that actually gring the sugar by impact and
shear. The crystals are impacted and then deflected back for the impact.
The impact blade and the speed determine the ginness of the granules.
