Screw Type Feeders

Screw feeders are used for bulk solid handling. They are the most commonly used feeders and can deliver at a wide range of speeds. They can be used for small scale operations as in pharmaceutical and chemical industry or for large scale operations as in refineries etc.

It is basically a volumetric device that delivers a certain volume per rotation of the screw. The volume depends in the inside shaft diameter and the pitch of the screw flight. Flowability or in other words the friction of the solid marks the fullness of the screw. Agitators are used to keep the solid in the flowable condition.
