Paste Mixers
For any kind of paste mixing, there are two thins
required, first even mixing and second, deaeration. To fulfill the
purpose the mixing drum or the agitator are continually revolved and
rotated concurrently. Since the viscosity of the material is generally
high the machine needs to be rather powerful. Planetary Mixers - they have a rotating container that rotates and revolves concurrently thus doing away with the need of an agitator or a mixing rod. It is specially suited for conditions where aeration needs to be avoided. Horizontal Mixers - they have a low speed shaft and specialized blades and employ high torque. The process is highly suitable for very thick or highly viscous pastes. It is also used for powder liquid mixing to form a paste. Double Planetary Mixer - This type has twin shafts that rotate around a gear. The blades may be rectangular or helical. Double Planetary Mixers are used to make products such as rubber cements, silicones, and battery pastes. They are ideal for mixing highly viscous non-flowing materials to a homogenous paste. -
