Mixing Wet & Dry Products
Wet Mixing Wet mixing involves breaking the streamlined churning pattern to ensure even liquid or wet mixing. A propeller mixer is considered most suitable for the purpose. Care is taken that baffles are used to break the streamlining or the propeller may be installed asymmetrically. Dry Mixing Dry mixing is important function in many a industry including food, paint, construction, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals. Dry mixing can be done in various ways depending upon the nature of the material. For a free flowing dry material a ribbon blender is considered ideal. It has a cylindrical shell with a helical arranged ribbon blade. This blade churns the material to the sides of the container shell and then forces it back to the center. This ensures even mixing of the material. For dense dry materials, or abrasive material, Y blender is considered more suitable. It has two cylindrical cones welded together and fitted with shafts mounted on bearings. The blender is rotated at a very slow speed. Baffles inside the cone ensure thorough mixing. -
