Crystallizing Evaporators
Crystallizing Evaporators also called "Forced
Circulation Evaporators" are used for heat sensitive and/or sticky,
coating materials that will either quickly foul or plug heat exchange
and piping systems. They require high velocity pumps for the feed while
it is in the heat exchanger. This limits the temperature rise and also
keeps the surface clean thus improving the effectiveness. This also
avoids crystallization through out the piping. The liquid is heated gradually on each pass through the heat exchanger. And only partial evaporation takes place. Evaporation occurs as the liquid is flash evaporated in the separator vessel. This is where the crystals are formed.
