The crusher is used to reduce the size of the
mineral and different types of crushers are used for different materials
at different stages. There are five basic types of crushers namely
gyratory, jaw, hammer mills, vertical impact and roll press.
Gyratory crushers consist of a cone shape bowl with a gyrating central
head. Feed is crushed between the cone and head.
Hammer mills use fixed or swinging hardened steel hammers for coarse
crushing to fine milling. Hammer crushers come in vertical and
horizontal rotor configurations with one or many rows of hammers.
Jaw crushers crush the materials between fixed and reciprocating
plates, producing coarse granules.
Vertical Impact crushers use a vertical crushing wheel that revolves
around a solid or perforated pan. They can fine powder the coarse
material.
Roll crushers crush feed between the nip of two rolls or between a
single roll and a fixed surface. They are used for intermediate
grinding.
