Conveyor Dryers
Conveyor dryers are also called band or apron dryers
and are used for a variety of purposes like silk screen printing, food
processing, pharmaceuticals etc.
Process In a conveyor drying process, the wet or the moist product is placed on a perforated belt and hot gas is passed through it. The heat source, belt and feeding mechanism are installed in a frame, and the entire system is insulated. There are entry doors at both ends for the moving parts. Parts Feeders: Different types of feeders are used that spread the feed uniformly in a measured quantity. Conveyor Belt - belt is usually made of a perforated plate attached to roller chains on both sides. Fishplates on the sides prevent the feed from spilling. Dryer: dryer has different sections having recirculating fan, exhaust port and heat source. Heat source may be steam coil, gas burners or electrical heaters. They may be multypass units with vertically stacked belts or lined up within the dryer where the feed is transferred from one belt to another Conveyer dryers are flexible in terms of temperature and can handle different products at different temperatures with the temperature control mechanism of different sections and remain consistent with a specific application. -
