The functioning principle of all the evaporator is
just the same be it the continuous or the batch.
- A dilute material is fed to the evaporator.
- Heat is applied
- Material is concentrated by removal of the vapor.
The concentrate is discharged at the same tome as the dilute is added
making the process a continuous one. The most common type of continuous
evaporation is spray drying.
A spray drying system consists of feed pump, atomizer, air heater, air
disperser, drying chamber, and systems for exhaust air cleaning and
powder recovery.
