Chemical Resistant Pipe

All metal pipes are to an extent chemically reactive. Different plastic materials are used for chemical resistance or for unusual pressure and temperature conditions.

Types of Resistant Materials

Polyamide - It belongs to the Nylon class. This material is resistant to hydrocarbons. It is a thermoplastic material. It is available in rigid and flexible forms for varied applications especially off- shore oil and gas applications.

Polyaryletherketon (Peek) - It is quite commonly used in the surgical arena. It has excellent mechanical strength, rigidity, high impact, and chemical resistance. It is ideal for applications in food processing, beverage bottling, and chemical processing industry.

Polyvinylidene Fluoride - It is considered to handle the purest form of water well. PVDF piping is used where highest purity of water for the semiconductor, pharmaceutical, and biotech industries is used. It does not add undesirable ions to the water. It is also used as the heat shrinkable tubing for electrical insulation.
