Chemical Centrifuges
The centrifuges are instruments used for separating
the particles by the natural separation principles using the G-force
environment. The particles separate as per their size, shape, density,
viscosity of the medium and rotor speed. The centrifuges spin at a very
high speed and that leads the particles to separate. The denser medium
separates from the less dense one.
Uses The equipment is used for filtering industrial slurries and separating the milk contents in dairy industry. They are quite common in food and beverage industry. On an even larger scale they are used for wastewater treatment. The most common use of the centrifuge is in laboratories, chemical processes and biochemical research. The laboratory centrifuges are required for the analyzing of proteins and drugs and larger centrifuges for the purification of solvents and the concentration of other biomasses. Types of Centrifuges Basket centrifuges They are filtering type centrifuges where the basket spins along the vertical axis. The slurry separates and filters through the cloth lining of the basket and the solid part remains there on the walls of the container. Disk Centrifuges They are used for liquid - liquid separation and in the dairy industry. It has a conical bowl that separates the liquid and sets in layers that are then removed. Industrial Centrifuges They are used for the separation of larger volumes of liquid/solid or washing and drying metal instrument parts etc. they are used in dairy industry, food and beverage industry, degumming and other industrial filtration plants. Laboratory Centrifuges They are used for chemical and biochemistry labs for separating the particles of different density or particle size, when suspended in a fluid. Pharmaceutical Centrifuges they are used for a septic production of drugs and separation of chemicals. Ultra Centrifuge They are high-speed centrifuges to determine the molecular weights of large molecules like proteins. Chemical
